Westside Historical Society will be opening Barren Creek Heritage Museum in May and will be open Sundays from noon to 4pm through September. Visitors to the Museum will find more than 30 exhibits telling the story of 300s years of growth and change in the Nanticoke River watershed part of Wicomico County. Learn about the Puckamees, Native-Americans who lived here through the 1700s, San Domingo’s community of hundreds of free-blacks from decades before the Civil War, colonial tobacco farmers & shippers, millers who sawed lumber and ground grain in water-powered mills, trappers of minks, beavers, otters and muskrat, captains of sailing ships bound for the Indies, and local veterans of every war from the Revolution to the present. See history told through women’s fashions, a kitchen from the 1920s, coal-oil lamps, and pump organs. Traditions, culture, and history are mingled here.Don’t miss the lovely Barren Creek Springs Church beside the Creek, built 1842, now restored. On the grounds, see an original stone meant to be used to mark the boundary of Delaware by Mason and Dixon, and a tiny graveyard. Nearby is Barren Creek Spring House where hundreds of guests of the nearby hotel came to drink the supposedly-health giving mineral spring water.

Make Crown Family Entertainment Center your camp’s destination! We’re located inside the huge Crown Sports Center and we have state-of-the-art laser tag, for kids 7 years and older, and the area’s largest arcade for any age! A standard laser tag game is played with 2 teams. Everyone wears a color coded computerized vest that actually “talks” to you throughout the game! Individual scores and team totals are posted on a big screen for everyone to see. Games take about 15 minutes to get through. Up to 30 players can play at once. We have slashed our rates so every camp and day care can enjoy our facility! Camp and day care rates are ridiculously low with laser tag starting at $2.50 a game, regularly 7.00. Minimum purchase of 2 games for 10 people. Reservation required. These rates are for camps and day cares only and are only offered Tuesday and Thursday 9am-12pm only. Still want more fun? Attention: Daycares and Summer Camps
Roll on in to the Crown Skating Center for the area’s best in roller skating entertainment. The Crown Skating Center is a new 22,000 sq. ft. modern roller skating rink featuring a Pro Shop, Snack Bar, live DJ with up to date music, state of the art sound system and a fantastic light show. Conveniently located in the Crown Sports Center in Fruitland, Maryland, the skating rink is offering daycare and camps a super summer rate. Skate from 10AM-12PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays for only $5 per person (5 person minimum). This rate includes skate rental also! Add ons include the PlaySmart for $2 per person and a $3 Snack Tix for a slice of pizza and a small soda. You can also add on the Laser Tag, arcade and Fun Field in the sports center.
