Urban Salisbury and the Wicomico Public Library present a free outdoor showing of DreamWorks' Bee Movie in Parking Lot 15 on Camden Street at dusk or a little later. Bring a chair and the kids and enjoy the family movie! Bee Movie features the voices of Jerry Seinfeld, Renee Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, and many more. It is the story of Barry B. The Julia A. Purnell Museum is once again offering the popular summer series Heritage Crafts for Kids. The first program will take place on Wednesday, July 9. Families can stop by the museum between 1 and 3pm, and children can learn about regional history by making a craft related to an aspect of the museum's collection. On July 9 participants will decorate a fabric mini flag. The project is included in the cost of general admission: $2 for adults and $.50 for children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. MarylandSummerCenter for the Arts Concert: The Folk Heroes and The Burke Family Singers SALISBURY, MD. The Burke Family Singers are an all-family choir that performs a cappella gospel music featuring inspirational and uplifting hymns and spirituals. The Folk Heroes are a local Eastern Shore band composed of four members who have been playing in the area for more than 12 years. They play a variety of music including American and Irish folk tunes, old and new. The concert, presented by The Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council in partnership with SalisburyUniversity, is July 9, 2008 at 7pm at SalisburyUniversity in Holloway Hall Auditorium. SALISBURY, MD. The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University, hosts the Nature Inspired Art camp for children ages 8 -12 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., July 14-18. An optional after camp program follows each day from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Cost for a week long pass is $150.00 for members, $185.00 for non-members. Day passes may also be purchased at $40.00 for members $50.00 for non-members. After camp admission is $25.00 each day. Artists hold classes on topics such as painting, mosaics and carving. Between classes children participate in educational activities to learn about the environment. Deadline to register for camp is Thursday, July 3.

Taste of Cambridge CAMBRIDGE, MD. The town’s biggest event of the summer, Taste of Cambridge, takes place on Saturday, July 12 – right in the midst of peak crabbing season. Locals and travelers from all over the region are on hand for this favorite culinary event, during which chefs from downtown Cambridge’s most popular restaurants battle it out to see who makes the town’s “Best Crab Dish.”Those attending the Taste of Cambridge can take part in the action by tasting dishes and casting their vote for best crab cake, crab soup, crab dip and crab specialty. Price Buick-Pontiac-GMC in Salisbury has declared August as “Child Safety Month”.General Manager Arzie Owens announced today that he is working with the Wicomico County Health Department, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department and IDENT-A-KID, the National Child Identification Program in the organization of a “Safe Kids Expo” to be held at their Rt. 13 and West Zion Road location on Saturday, August 16th, 2008. “Being a father of 2 children, I know how important it is for us to keep our kids safe and with the new Maryland booster seat law now in effect, we wanted to provide a fun and educational event to create more awareness.” Mr. Owens said.“The Price organization is very family oriented and our lines of GM automobiles are extremely safety oriented, so it was a good fit for us.” From 11am until 2pm on Saturday, August 16th families are invited to come to Price in Salisbury to take part in a variety of educational and fun activities.
